Spark of Transcendence
If love is the symbol that is universally and repeatedly imitated, and humanity tries to imagine an infinite closeness to love, how is it then shaped and made into a symbol that secretly infiltrates people’s social lives as a standard ideal model? If love is a performance, then what is the love that transcends human nature?
The work explores whether real emotions still exist behind the carefully choreographed performance. In the process, it reveals the many dimensions of human love: innocence and romance, cruelty and brokenness. The artist interweaves fictional and non-fictional elements to portray love as a reflection of human secrets and a source of inner turmoil. The expression of each emotion is both a self-assertion and a defence against the evil of negligence. Through this work, the artist aims to reveal the archetypal and symbolic character of love, and he encourages people to think about the underlying structure of everyday behaviour.
